b. Minimum floor coverage rate
Minimum floor coverage rate: the minimum acceptable ratio of cargo's per-layer footprint relative to the pallet's footprint.
When a layer's coverage reaches the minimum, that layer is considered a fully covered layer (equal to the pallet footprint), and the software adopts the placement combination.
In the example below, the user sets the minimum floor coverage rate to 82%.
1) The bottom green cargo's placement combination reaches the 82% coverage requirement, so it is adopted.
2) The middle gray cargo's placement combination also reaches the 82% coverage requirement, so it is adopted.
3) But when the upper (gray) layer's coverage is higher than the lower (green) layer's coverage, the upper layer can have overhang.
4) Although there are gaps and overhangs at corners, in real operations they can be avoided by spreading cargo and adding cushioning to prevent upper-layer overhang.
