d. Spread (flat) placement

Prefer spreading flat when space is not fully used: when cargo is sparse and the container is not full, transport damage may occur. Spreading cargo flat across the container floor uses up the remaining bottom space and keeps cargo safer. Enabling this option fills the bottom of the container first.
